Our History

Primary School No. 1637

Amphitheatre has had a long history with education. As the Gold rush hit fever pitch in the 1850’s and 60’s it was evident that the mining town needed a place for students to receive an education.

In 1861 the first Amphitheatre Primary School No. 22 was established. It was run so successfully in the next decade that the building was too small for it to hold the ever growing student body.

School Times & Lunch Information

We recommend that students bring to school food and beverages that are regarded as healthy options. We recommend students have fruit and or vegetables each day in the classroom with very little processed foods such as chips or chocolate bars. Students are able to store their food in the fridge in the kitchen and heat food using the microwave. We recommend water as the only beverage to be brought to school however fresh tank water is available at all times in the school yard.

It was a very exciting day on Monday for our last Cluster Steam Day at Trawalla. "DREAM City" came along and the students got to experience Robotics, Virtual Reality and Electronics in person and it was so engaging and so much fun for all the kids. A BIG THANKS to Eleanor Miller for organizing such a great day.
